Fallout 4 Map Leaked – SPOILERS AHEAD –

By | Gaming | No Comments

Fallout 4 Map LeakedThanks to an anonymous reddit user and a bunch of people who got a copy of Fallout 4 early from either shopkeepers not following the rules or less honest means have managed to stitch together a completed Fallout 4 Map leak ahead of time.

It looks more or less the same size of skyrim, with a sizeable portion being water. I guess that means we’ll have some underwater exploring to do!

On the bright side, unlike Skyrims mountainous ranges, there is a lot of flat ground to explore and vertical buildings, which should make the playable area much larger than Skyrim. That’s good news for those of planning to dump hundreds of hours into the game! While none of the locations are featured in the map leak, we can clearly see the starting location and Fenway Park (Diamond City).

This was a fun little project. I wanted was going for a kinda i-robot feel. Think it came out looking pretty good all things considering! Maybe a little too futuristic for fallout 4, but they’re supposed to be the pinnacle of human technology on earth, after all.

Credit for the character models goes to Bethesda for the middle model and Frank Tzeng for the left 3D Render.

Fallout 4 Walkthrough – How to Survive

Fallout 4 Walkthrough Guide Wallpaper

I rarely get hyped, but Fallout 4 has me drinking the kool-aid. When I actually had time I decided to squeeze in a bit of fun design and plot out a quick fun project centered around Fallout 4. I wanted to make a really simple, stupid Fallout 4 Walkthrough that people could have fun looking at for a minute or two. So here goes.

AS A NOTE : I have received a ton of feedback regarding this “walkthrough”. I caught a lot of flak regarding how this is not the way the game is meant to be played. I rustled a LOT of jimmies with this graphic. The beauty of Fallout 4 is that you will be able to play any fashion you choose. Perhaps I went a little bit too “bad guy” for this walkthrough. I will be amending this to include different style character that you can play through, and tips for each of them. Stay tuned to see more Fallout 4 Walkthrough graphics that will include characters like “The Scientist” “The Saint” “The Madman” ect.

Let’s face it. Walking out of a sheltered vault and into the wasteland can be a bit of an experience. So I’ve put together this Fallout 4 Guide. If you have no qualms about skipping the moral high road to survive, this is a good set of rules. For Fallout veterans this may be common sense, but it’s been a while, and war never changes.

Take Everything

Caps are life, and everything is worth something. That rusty butterknife might be worth one cap, but you never know when you will bump into a trader. If a merchant or homeowner dont happen to be there, or have their back turned. Consider it free. Just dont get caught.

Kill That NPC

Sneaking up on a neutral NPC and using VATS on the back of his head may not seem very sportmanlike, but I bet that vault suit is stinky after sitting in storage for several hundred years. Besides, It’s not like he was part of a quest, right? Almost every player is anxious to swap out their starting weapon and armor for bigger and better gear, and getting the drop on these harmless NPCs is the best way to do it. Oh hell, you’ll probably do more than one playthrough anyway, these ancillary characters aren’t that important.

Save Your Meds

If you’ve been following the first tip, you should be carrying enough food to feed a small city. Eat that crap and save your meds for when the going gets really tough. Remember that time you bumped into 10 cazadores without stimpacks or buffout? Yeah, I do.

Follow the Main Quest

I typically save the main quest for later in the game, but my playstyle is also a bit bizarre. If you’re looking to gear up quickly without much risk, follow that main quest. Plenty of AI teammates will help you through firefights and the quests typically lead you to major towns with some of the biggest experience bonuses awarded in the game.

Warning : Do Not Enter

Deathclaw Fortress may sound like a cool place to explore, but unless you fancy becoming a steaming pile of mutant feces, bookmark it to stock up and level first. If you don’t feel confident entering an area, save early and save often. There’s no point wasting all your resources to search one area.

Fallout Shelter Crash Fix Bug

Fallout Shelter Crash Fix

By | Gaming | 8 Comments

If you are anything like me, you are getting frustrated with the constant freezing and crashing that happens with Fallout Shelter App on Ipad, Ipad mini, and Iphone. My co-workers and I have been troubleshooting across devices to bring you as many tips as possible to fixing the solution. We have put together a list of the most frequently occurring crashes, and how we fixed them.

UPDATE: Latest Patch 1.6 Creates more issues.

It seems that continuing on since launch, users are still having major issues with the app crashing. If none of the solutions we’ve found so far work, post your issues HERE.

ATTENTION ANDROID USERS

At the moment, it is inadvisable for your to purchase lunchboxes for your game. There is a relatively common bug that sets your game save file to 0kb, effectively wiping your entire savegame, and your purchased lunchboxes, with no refund.

There has been a well documented series of android users that have come to the following conclusion regarding why, exactly, this problem is happening.

“You are closing the application before the autosave finished completing a write, wiping the save data in the process.”

The following video (I recommend you mute it) goes through the process to clear game files for a fresh install.

WINDOWS USERS

Game gets stuck loading

Launcher won’t start

Ensure that you have installed the launcher in the default directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda.net Launcher). It has issues launching from any other install directory. Weird, we know.

IOS USERS

Fallout Shelter Crash on Start

Easiest fix. This was likely because you either didn’t exit the app properly the first time, or two instances of the app launched at once. Make sure you close any instances of the game already open, and close your other programs while you are at it.

Fallout Shelter Lags Horribly and then Crashes

This has only happened when our vault grows too large. Depending on what device you are using, there is simply too much going on and the game was poorly optimized at launch by Bethesda. We recommend starting a new vault and waiting for the Android updates to come along. If you already sank a bunch of money into the lunchboxes, I feel your pain. I did too.

Fallout Shelter Won’t Load the Vault – Crash on Load

You likely have a corrupted save. If you’ve tried restarting the game, restarting your device, and the same load game crashes there is only one option. Start a new game. Starting a new game might seem like a waste of time at this point, but it will load up and run smooth as butter. Let the new game run for a while and then load your original and try again.

Fallout Shelter Crash When Rushing Rooms Having Babies or Multiple Events

Some kind of content overflow issue that results in a crash. We recommend restarting your device, making sure all applications are closed, and restarting the game. It seems to fix the issue for a few hours.

None of the Above Worked for me!

We have only had one instance where none of the above fixed the crashing, or it was just too frequent to handle. This most commonly occurred on the lower end, not supported devices such as the Ipad Mini. While we did see a slight performance increase in wiping all data and reinstalling the app, it was too much of a pain to justify as a solution. Hopefully the development team for Fallout Shelter over at Bethesda can iron out these issues, because there is simply nothing we can do. Sorry 🙁

Conclusion

If none of the solutions we’ve found so far work, post your issues HERE.

Some Shameless Fallout 4 Content to Whet your Whistle

The biggest reason all of us picked up Fallout: Shelter in the first place was to sate our thirst for just a little while longer. Once we get Fallout 4 in our hands, we will likely never pick Shelter up again. So until then, here’s two nice graphics I made to keep things interesting

Fallout 4 Nuka Cola Wallpapers – In game Marketing Campaign

By | Gaming, Graphic Design | No Comments

Because I’m super hyped about Fallout 4 (who isn’t?) I recently reinstalled Fallout 3 and began my play-through again. What fascinated me more than anything else is that despite the hundreds of hours I poured into the game, I still discover new locations and stories. How can this be? I barely left my dorm room for the better part of a year exploring every aspect of this masterpiece! Either my memory is terrible or Bethesda is incredible at creating lots of content. I am extremely hopeful for a Nuka Cola: Quantum cult in Fallout 4. That’s right up Bethesda’s alley.

Fallout 4 Nuka Cola Plant

The Abandoned Nuka Cola Plant

After barely escaping a band of raiders with my fresh character, I stumbled into an abandoned Nuka Cola factory outside the ruins of D.C. Battling through the enemies in any Bethesda title is always enjoyable, but from the books of Elder Scrolls to the computer terminals of the Fallout series, the mini-stories are typically what fascinate me. I couldn’t recall ever exploring this building before, but the clunking robots in the next room gave something to shoot, so I set about with my hunting rifle to scavenge for supplies. After clearing most of the enemies in the building, the green glow of a terminal within caught my eye, and I stumbled over to the desk frantically looking for a stimpak. What I found in the terminal was much more rewarding: A transcript of a pre-nuclear-apocalypse marketing campaign for Nuka Cola Quantum.

Nuka Cola Marketing Terminal

Nuka Cola Marketing Terminal 01

This is a perfect opportunity for me! I’ve been plugging away in the marketing world, getting bored with my current restrictive artwork, and I need something passionate to work on in my downtime to practice. The poor vaporized marketing department that left their legacy behind will have their final piece of work come to fruition! Every Graphic Designer needs a fun project to occupy his or her time.

I decided that I would complete each terminals marketing campaign as I found them in order. I would love to hop on After Effects and do the TV commercials as well, I just don’t have the time. The first terminal instructs me to not reveal the brand, only showing the blue glow of Nuka Cola Quantum with their tagline. Several goofy drawings later and slapping paint on my Photoshop Canvas, I finished! I get to continue exploring the Nuka Cola Plant! Below is the first marketing campaign, both with and without the text at 1920 x 1080 for your pleasure!

I will likely head home tonight and find the second terminal to prepare the next marketing campaign.
